In the State of Florida, massage therapy is a regulated profession. Upon successful completion of an approved program such as ours, a candidate for receiving a massage therapist license must apply for and pass the National Certification Examination which is administered by The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. When you pass this exam it demonstrates to the public, other health care providers, and fellow massage therapists that you possess an entry-level standard of education and/or experience in the massage profession - and are worthy of having a massage therapist license.
For further information about the National Certification Exam contact the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, 1901 S. Meyers Road, Suite 240, Oakbrook, IL, 60181; 800-296-0664 or 630-637-8000, or visit the National Certification Board's website at www.ncbtmb.com. |

Certification by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork Administrators is NOT a State certification or massage therapist license and does NOT entitle the therapist to receive compensation. The State of Florida (Department of Health, Board of Massage Therapy) uses the successful completion of this examination to grant a massage therapist license to practice massage professionally within Florida.
