EDUCATIONAL GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

CFSMT's primary focus as a massage school is to offer the quality education and experience you need to create a successful and rewarding massage career. When you graduate from our massage school, we want you to be able to demonstrate:
  • Knowledge, proficiency, and competence in massage therapy techniques, theory and practices, anatomy and physiology, pathology, hydrotherapy, risk management, business practices, assessment, referral, and quality of touch;
  • Personal skills in effective communication, self-awareness and understanding, focused intention, and desire to educate others about the benefits of massage;
  • Professional standards of ethical behavior in the therapeutic setting and knowledge of laws and statutes governing massage therapy and practice;
  • Commitment to continuing education beyond massage school and providing a client-centered approach to your massage practice;
  • Preparedness to pass the MBLEX Examination and achieve state licensure after you graduate from massage school; and
  • Preparedness to establish a private practice or work in collaboration with other health specialists for the benefit of society after you leave massage school.
As a student at our massage school most of your education will be hands-on, learning to perform entry-level massages using Swedish massage technique as well as several other modalities. You will also study massage school subjects such as business in an academic classroom setting. This combined academic and hands-on experience in our massage school will prepare you for entry-level employment as a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Florida. Graduates of our massage school have found work with dentists, doctors, hospitals, chiropractors, spas, pain management offices, and massage clinics. Many of our alumni have also started their own practices right out of massage school.
